The middle three I think are especially poignant, because I think when images of destruction, violence, and death are seen in black and white, there’s a sort of unreality about them…a tendency to see them as history, the stuff of textbooks, and not as real things that really happened.

chrisvertner: This is a pic of the tornado in Cleburne texas a few hours ago. Found this online. Mile wide. But the tornado in Grandbury was worse. In damage and casualties at least. Not sure but I’ve heard 3 to 6 deaths so far and up to 100 wounded. New warning just issued close to Ennis to Kemp. Just a warning now. Not a touch down. Keep praying. Keep safe if you have been in or are still in the path of the storm. Calmed down significantly but still dangerous and just icky. Please be careful as a north texas resident, I must share this.
